-
- Not as good, sure. But that doesn't out-date the A500.
- All you have to do is update the accelerator+memory system, ie like with the
- GVP A530, (with on-board 32-bit mem & scsi, I think, at 50Hz) and the A500 can
- out-run my A3000/25, maybe in all respects. Expensive and kludgey but still
- the same effective computer. And the two systems should be able to
- run the same programs (and crash in similar fashions, also).
-
- Slower/faster, better or worse, its still amiga. As long as there's
- sprites, blobs, and GURUs.
- Citing your example, DPaint was always just fine on the A1000 (as long
- as I didn't save much :) for N-color jobs, where N:4...32,
- which is also the case for animation (not my ticket, either), OCS can
- do just fine at the introductory/dabbling level.

- I'd modify that to say the A3000 slams the A4000 wrt price/features.
- Once you start expanding (both) they become functionally identical (given
- that the A3000 chips are up-to-date). Except for AGA game play, which
- I would be frankly embarrassed to be doing much of on an A4000.
